Itinerary Details

Day 1: Momella Gate To Miriakamba Hut (2514 m)

  • Pickup from your accommodations at 8:00 and drive to Momella gate for registration formalities
  • Start climbing through the lush green beautiful forest while admiring the natural views
  • On the way, get a chance to see wild animals including elephants, zebra, giraffes and antelopes
  • The path leads to Miriakamba hut for dinner and sleep

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut (2514m) To Saddle Hut (3570m)

  • After a hot breakfast, trek through the montanne forest to the saddle below Little Meru
  • The trail leads to Saddle hut to arrive around mid-day for lunch
  • Take the rest of the day off resting or sightseeing around the camp if interested
  • Retire to bed as early as 19:00

Day 3: Ascend To Socialist Peak

  • Wake up at 23:30 for putting on climbing gears
  • Start climbing by 00:00 to climb steeply to Rhino point and later proceed on to Cobra point
  • The trail finally leads to Socialist peak where you will arrive at sunrise
  • Spend time at the summit resting and taking pictures
  • Start descending to reach at Saddle hut for brunch and a little rest
  • The trail passes through Miriakamba hut to finally arrive at Momella gate in the evening
  • Return back to previous accommodations in Arusha town
